By grace I live. By grace I am released. 

What is grace but the pure awareness of gratitude to God for all good Gifts. (The only kind He gives.) The mind is in such a state of happiness and peace from this Conscious Awareness.  And We call it grace.

Gratitude is both the healer and the best awakener.  Right now is the time for You to begin.  Why tarry any longer in the dream, the insane nightmare?  Freedom is at hand.

¹ Grace is an aspect of the Love of God which is most like the state prevailing in the unity of truth. It is the world’s most lofty aspiration, for it leads beyond the world entirely. It is past learning yet the goal of learning, for grace cannot come until the mind prepares itself for true acceptance. Grace becomes inevitable instantly in those who have prepared a table where it can be gently laid and willingly received, an altar clean and holy for the gift.  What makes this lovely altar but a grateful heart allways aware of God’s Goodness.  What do I mean?   How recently have You been grateful for the sunrise, the beauty of the new moon or running water? The laughter of a child, the kindness of someone helping another cross the street.  The little things You take for granted are full with gratitude, awaiting Your grateful acknowledgement.  Gratitude – also known as grace – is an open door to riches that await You.

² Grace is acceptance of the Love of God within a world of seeming hate and fear. – Of supply Infinite in the very midst of seeming lack. – By grace alone the hate and fear are gone, for grace presents a state so opposite to everything the world contains that those whose minds are lighted by the gift of grace can not believe the world of fear is real.  Remember God’s words to Hagar, planning to die of thirst in the land of Beer-sheba, of seven wells!  “What ails Thee Hagar!”  Hear Him say that to You in the midst of any struggle that seems overwhelming!

³ Grace is not learned.  It is earned, but unselfconsciously, quite far from ‘human’ channels.  It comes through Your gratitude for God and the desire to express His Love to All Your Others.  His Love does fill You – as You allow It – and You pass this Love on to Your Brother.  The point is that God need Be the Source of Your Love without all the ego’s limits. Freely this Love You receive, freely give. - The final step must go beyond all learning. Grace is not the goal this course aspires to attain. Yet we prepare for grace in that an open mind can hear the call to waken.  – For to Awaken is the goal We seek, to leave the ego’s realm of evil dreams.  But, You say, I can have a happy dream.  How happy can it be if just one Brother is still in pain? Remember that the happy dream is the last step, not the goal.  Keep Your mind open. – It is not shut tight against God’s Voice. It has become aware that there are things it does not know and thus is ready to accept a state completely different from experience with which it is familiarly at home.  I know that this is just the hardest thing to comprehend, and that One must step blindly forth, not knowing, but only trusting.

⁴ We have perhaps appeared to contradict our statement that the revelation of the Father and the Son as one has been already set. But we have also said the mind determines when that time will be and has determined it. – For sure, it is not set in stone, for the loveless ego does stand to delay it.  And the ego melts like the wicked  witch of the west,₁ not from water, but from Love. – And yet we urge you to bear witness to the Word of God to hasten the experience of truth and speed its advent into every mind which recognizes its effects on you.  And how do You bear witness but to be a wonderful example of the pure Joy of Listening!

⁵ Oneness is simply the idea God is. The description of His Be-ing.

And in His Being, He encompasses all things. No mind holds anything but Him. To think You do is but the insanity of the ego.  It’s not Your right mind!

We say “God is,” and then we cease to speak, – Have You heard words more beautiful than this? – for in that knowledge words are meaningless.  For communication is wordless, replaced by Ideas.

There are no lips to speak them – again, communication now is through the Holy Silence – and no part of mind sufficiently distinct to feel that it is now aware of something not itself. It has united with its Source, and like its Source Itself, it merely is.  This is no state of nothing, but a Universe of Love teeming with Life and Beauty and Goodness, and perfect happiness.

⁶ We cannot speak nor write nor even think of this at all. It comes to every mind when total recognition that its will is God’s has been completely given and received completely. This comes from willingness to discard the ego by turning always to God or the Holy Spirit.

It returns the mind into the endless present, where the past and future cannot be conceived. It lies beyond salvation-past all thought of time, forgiveness, and the holy face of Christ.  Where contentment comes from communion with the Holy Spirit, or with the Father.  At this holy point, now You know that You and I are equals.  For together are Our minds stayed on God.  We have reJoined through the Holy Spirit.  How We so much Love One another.

The Son of God has merely disappeared into His Father, as his Father has in him. The world has never been at all. For in the world Father and Son are not seen or known as One. For more clarity, let Us say that God and Christ are now seen and known as One.  No other Knowing is necessary.

Eternity remains a constant state.  As does Your pure, Divine Identity.

⁷ This is beyond experience we try to hasten. – You must first make the decision from Your little willingness. – Yet forgiveness, taught and learned, brings with it the experiences – of joy, peace and Love – which bear witness that the time the mind itself determined to abandon all but this is now at hand.  – When freely willing to forgive, You find Your escape from the ego’s bondage. – We do not hasten it, in that what you will offer was concealed from Him Who teaches what forgiveness means. I’ll bet You wish I’d said this more clearly!  Ah, just one word and You understood it.  Now let Us share with Every One.  What was concealed was the deepest hatred, manifest as but something less, like annoyance.  Now this hatred – and its brother fear – have but been diffused – or de-fused – by Your willingness to Love.

All learning was already in His Mind, accomplished and complete. He recognized all that time holds and gave it to all minds that each one might determine from a point where time has ended when it is released to revelation and eternity.  This does speak of Me as doorway to Our dear Holy Spirit.  For We do share Him.

⁸ We have repeated several times before that you but make a journey that is done. For oneness must be here. Whatever time the mind has set for revelation is entirely irrelevant to what must be a constant state, forever as it always was; forever to remain as it is now. We merely take the part assigned long since and fully recognized as perfectly fulfilled by Him Who wrote salvation’s script in His Creator’s name and in the name of His Creator’s Son.  What did write the script but God and the Son’s own Reality: the Holy Spirit.  Your Healer is but What You really are.

⁹ There is no need to further clarify what no one in the world can understand. When revelation of your oneness comes, it will be known and fully understood. Now we have work to do, for those in time can speak of things beyond and listen to words which explain what is to come is past already. Yet what meaning can the words convey to those who count the hours still and rise and work and go to sleep by them?  Ah!  You got a glimpse there – didn’t You? – of the freedom of timeless Eternity.  I promise You: To be Awake is great!

¹⁰ Suffice it, then, that you have work to do to play your part. The ending must remain obscure to you until your part is done. It does not matter. For your part is still what all the rest depends on. As you take the role assigned to you, salvation comes a little nearer each uncertain heart that does not beat as yet in tune with God. – A feeling quite apart from ‘matter’; to have Your heart beat in rhythm with God, Love.  Forgiveness is the central theme which runs throughout salvation, holding all its parts in meaningful relationships, the course it runs directed, and its outcome sure.  What is forgiveness but willingness to Love instead of hate?

¹¹ And now we ask for grace, the final gift salvation can bestow. Experience that grace provides will end in time, for grace foreshadows Heaven yet does not replace the thought of time but for a little while. The interval suffices. It is here that miracles are laid, to be returned by you from holy instants you receive through grace in your experience to all who see the light that lingers on your face.  When miracles occur, time has been – let Us say – suspended.  And in that suspension, all the ‘rules’ of time – i.e. the rules of the dream – are suspended too.  Reality bursts in as a miracle, or so You call it.  Yet it is simply that the Rules of Reality have prevailed.  Such is irreversible True Healing.

¹² What is the face of Christ but his who went a moment into timelessness and brought a clear reflection of the unity he felt an instant back to bless the world? How could you finally attain to it forever while a part of you remains outside, unknowing, unawakened, and in need of you as witness to the truth?  You do know these moments, so many of You!  Let them come to mind again, then step easily out of the unconsciousness of the world and into Reality!

For You who have not yet experienced it, ask within Your mind for it, and to be reminded of any one that You might have forgotten. (Thanks to the ego!)  Let the Holy Spirit do remind You.

¹³ Be grateful to return, as you were glad to go an instant and accept the gifts that grace provided you. You carry them back to yourself. And revelation stands not far behind. Its coming is ensured.  The Living Truth – the Holy Spirit – is now here to help You.

We ask for grace and for experience that comes from grace. We welcome the release it offers everyone. We do not ask for the unaskable. We do not look beyond what grace can give. For this we can give in the grace that has been given us.  The grace – the Love itself– will be enough.  Much more than enough.  Stop Your worrying.

¹⁴ Our learning goal today does not exceed this prayer, yet in the world, what could be more than what we ask this day of Him Who gives the grace we ask as it was given Him?

¹⁵ By grace I live. By grace I am released.
By grace I give. By grace I will release.

Let Us say it as well with Love:

By Love I live, by Love I am released.  By Love I give.  By Love I will release.

By Love I become willing to release.

Your grace is given me. I claim it now. 

And not only is it freely given, I find it to be more than sufficient!  It is like the song We always sang – with such Love for God – at the Passover seder: Dayenu.  It would have been enough.

If You had only freed Us from slavery, it would have been enough.  If You had only parted the Red Sea, it would have been enough.  If You’d only fed Us manna in the desert, it would have been enough.

You see where I am going here Sister?  Can You not say and mean it: If You had only saved Sarah from the taxi, it would have been enough … to have Me cleave to You forever, just as You cleave to Us.

Can not All of You say: If You had only written A Course In Miracles, that would have been enough.  Brothers and Sisters!  How much does it take?  If not now, then when?

¹ God speaks to us. Shall we not speak to Him? His words are so kind, illuminating and just wonderful.  He is the very best of companions.

He is not distant. As the poet says: He’s closer than breathing or than hands and feet.₁ He makes no attempt to hide from us. We try to hide from Him and suffer from deception. He remains entirely accessible. He loves His Son. There is no certainty but this, yet this suffices. He will love His Son forever. When his mind remains asleep, He loves him still. And when his mind awakes, He loves him with a never-changing Love.  Whether the Son sleeps or wakens, this sweet Love is His or Hers (whatever point of view S/He has taken).

² If you but knew the meaning of His Love, hope and despair would be impossible, for hope would be forever satisfied; despair of any kind unthinkable. His grace His answer is to all despair, for in it lies remembrance of His Love. – (the actuality of His Power) – Would He not gladly give the means by which His Will is recognized? – Well, of course, He would!  And, of course, He does! – His grace is yours by your acknowledgment. – It’s ever-present. – And memory of Him awakens in the mind which asks the means of Him whereby its sleep is done.  His sleep is finished, for the sleep itself was but a dream from which the Son has already Awakened.  Yet He’s been slow to stop His dreaming, preferring reverie to Reality.

³ Today we ask of God the gift He has most carefully preserved within our hearts, waiting to be acknowledged. – It is Our indissoluble connection with Our own Divinity. The substantial Love We are: the Holy Spirit. – This the gift by which God leans to us and lifts us up, taking salvation’s final step Himself. – There is no separation.  There never really could be one, for Ideas cannot ever leave their Source. – All steps but this we learn, instructed by His Voice. But finally He comes Himself and takes us in His arms and sweeps away the cobwebs of our sleep. – He never left Us. No. Not really. We are the Ones who took this imaginary journey in Our mind, and believed that it really happened.  Yet never was it real, this whole phenomenal production is an empty dream. – His gift of grace is more than just an answer. – It negates the dream. – It restores all memories the sleeping mind forgot; all certainty of what love’s meaning is.  Waking from Our stupor, We remember what Love truly is.  And We are so glad!

⁴ God loves His Son. Request Him now to give the means by which this world will disappear, and vision first will come with knowledge but an instant later.  You see, Your willingness is both paramount and so crucial.

For in grace you see a light that covers all the world in love and watch fear disappear from every face as hearts rise up and claim the light as theirs. You’ve all been so long in darkness that, first the Light is blinding.  Yet there is no fear for only gentleness is here for You.

What now remains that Heaven be delayed an instant longer? What else is it but ego resistance?  Fear of the unknown, the long-forgotten.  It can’t hinder You.

What remains undone when your forgiveness rests on everything?  Not one thing at all.

⁵ It is a new and holy day today, for we receive what has been given us. Freedom from the dream of hell and dying.

Our faith lies in the Giver, – Our dear faithful God – not our own acceptance. We acknowledge our mistakes, but He to Whom all error is unknown is yet the One Who answers our mistakes by giving us the means – His forever Love, which shows Us perfect – to lay them down and rise to Him in gratitude and love.

⁶ And He descends – comes to Us with arms out stretched to meet us as we come to Him, for what He has prepared for us He gives and we receive. Such is His Will because He loves His Son. – And I am His Son. I am the Song of Love He sings as Me. –  To Him we pray today, returning but the words He gave to us through His own Voice, His Word, His Love:

⁷ Your grace is given me. – I have ignored It. – I claim it now.
Father, I come to You. And You will come
To me who asks. – You have never left Me for You are What I am forever. – I am the Son You Love.

Above all else, it is You I long for with all My Be-ing.

There is one life, and that I share with God. 

This is akin to saying: There is one Light; it is the Sun, shared by all the Rays.  This is to be used but for understanding, for, Truth is, God is the Source of Sun and the Rays as well.  Use not just the words, but the visual as well, so that You see clearly that there is but One Source and Substance: That is God.

¹ There are not different kinds of life, for life is like the truth. It does not have degrees. It is a synonym, the Nature of God.  All Names for God describe Its Nature.  It is the one condition in which all that God created share. Like all His Thoughts, it has no opposite. – Life is the quality of Reality.  All the Real is forever.  And All the Real is All there is. Pretty simple. – There is no death because what God created shares His Life. There is no death because an opposite to God does not exist. There is no death because the Father and the Son are one.  These words are quite clear, needing no enhancement, but for All the Sons of God to trust in them and live them.  To do that You must believe Me and understand that as Reality all there is is Good forever.  Are You willing?  Or do You prefer to be an ego?

² In this world there appears to be a state that is life’s opposite. You call it death.  It stands at the pinnacle of miscreation. The ego long ago created it, passed it into ‘law.  Dreamers took it up enthusiastically, called it part of ]life’, and it became “Holy Writ” a thing most sacred.

Yet we have learned that the idea of death takes many forms.  It is the one idea which underlies all feelings that are not supremely happy.  Not only does the body seem to die, but all things as well.  Flowers wither, leaves fall off of trees, iron rusts, wood rots, relationships do fail, memory goes, agility turns into stiffness, food and teeth decay, eyesight blurs, heaing goes faulty, You get the picture!  And all of this is considered as God’s ‘natural’ plan. –

It is the alarm to which you give response of any kind that is not perfect joy. All sorrow, loss, anxiety, and suffering and pain, even a little sigh of weariness, a slight discomfort or the merest frown, acknowledge death. And thus deny you live.  And why is that?  For each of these responses express a giving up, a capitulation to the seeming reality of all error.  This need not be.  What God does is forever at perfection.

³ You think that death is of the body.  –  It isn’t. The body sources nothing. It is of the mind, seeming to be ‘real’. – Yet it is but an idea, irrelevant to what is seen as physical. A thought is in the mind. It can be then applied as mind directs it. But its origin is where it must be changed if change occurs.  Change Your mind about what You see, and what You see will change accommodatingly, accordingly.  It’s very simple: \matter’ responds to Mind.

Ideas leave not their source. – In this idea lies the right answer to all Your seeming ‘needs’, for God is Your Source. – The emphasis this course has placed on that idea is due to its centrality in our attempts to change your mind about yourself. It is the reason you can heal. – Healing is a stand for Reality. – It is the cause of healing. It is why you cannot die. Its truth established you as one with God.

⁴ Death is the thought that you are separate from your Creator. Or else that Your creator is like You.  Both thoughts are untrue.

It is the belief conditions change, emotions alternate because of causes you cannot control, you did not make, and you can never change. It is the fixed belief ideas can leave their source and take on qualities the source does not contain, becoming different from their own origin, apart from it in kind as well as distance, time, and form.  For thus do You perceive You did with the separation, for You have assumed it really happened, mistaking unreal dreams for reality.

⁵ Death cannot come from life.  – It is not a part of it.  What an oxymoron that is! Yet You believe it. – Ideas remain united to their source. They can extend all that their source contains. In that they can go far beyond themselves. But they cannot give birth to what was never given them. As they are made, so will their making be. – Made from fantasy, thus do they remain. – As they were born, so will they then give birth. And where they come from, there will they return.  From “native nothingness” they came, and nothing They do remain.

⁶ The mind can think it sleeps, but that is all. It cannot change what is its waking state. It cannot make a body nor abide within a body.  The seeming changes in the dream have simple never happened, for dreams are not real.

What is alien to the mind does not exist because it has no source. For mind creates all things that are and cannot give them attributes it lacks nor change its own eternal, mindful state. It cannot make the physical. What seems to die is but the sign of mind asleep.  Dreaming pointless dreams.  And they seem so real!  And yet they aren’t.

⁷ The opposite of life can only be another form of life. –  An imaginary miscreation. – As such, it can be reconciled with what created it because it is not opposite in truth. Its form may change; it may appear to be what it is not. Yet mind is mind awake or sleeping. – Whatever it seems to be, it is still mind seeming it. – It is not its opposite in anything created nor in what it seems to make when it believes it sleeps. Mind is everpresent here and now despite appearances.

⁸ God creates only mind awake. He does not sleep, and His creations cannot share what He gives not nor make conditions which He does not share with them. – Here is Your rule of thumb: If it isn’t Good, it isn’t God, and it isn’t real. – The thought of death is not the opposite to thoughts of life. – What is ALL can have no opposite. – Forever unopposed by opposites of any kind, the Thoughts of God remain forever changeless with the power to extend forever changelessly but yet within Themselves, for They are everywhere.  “All is Infinite Mind … it’s Infinite Manifestation.”₁

⁹ What seems to be the opposite of life is merely sleeping. This is how I could say of Jairus’ daughter: “The maid is not dead.  She is merely sleeping.”₂

When the mind elects to be what it is not and to assume an alien power which it does not have, a foreign state it cannot enter or a false condition not within its Source, it merely seems to go to sleep a while. It dreams of time-an interval in which what seems to happen never has occurred, the changes wrought are substanceless, and all events are nowhere. When the mind awakes, it but continues as it always was.  All the ‘world’ and its history – ‘past’ or seeming present – just never happened.  It has all been a dream!

¹⁰ Let us today be children of the truth and not deny our holy heritage. Why not accept It!

Our life is not as we imagine it. Who changes life because he shuts his eyes or makes himself what he is not because he sleeps and sees in dreams an opposite to what he is? We will not ask for death in any form today. Nor will we let imagined opposites to life abide even an instant where the Thought of life eternal has been set by God Himself.  No matter how ‘real’ it all seems, just remind Yourself:  My awful sense of “life is but a dream.”  And I can now Awaken!

I’m more than willing!

¹¹ His holy home we strive to keep today as He established it, and wills it be forever and forever. He is Lord of what we think today. And in His Thoughts, which have no opposite, we understand there is one life and that we share with Him, with all creation, with their thoughts as well, whom He created in a unity of life that cannot separate in death and leave the Source of Life from where it came.  We are each a crucial part of Something Wonderful from Which We have been hiding.  Not any longer!

¹² We share our life because we have one Source, a Source from Which perfection comes to us, remaining always in the holy minds which He created perfect. As we were, so are we now and will forever be. A sleeping mind must waken as it sees its own perfection mirroring the Lord of Life so perfectly it fades into what is reflected there. And now it is no more a mere reflection. It becomes the thing reflected and the light which makes reflection possible. No vision now is needed. For the wakened mind is one that knows its Source, its Self, its holiness.  It takes but self-disciplined willingness to stick to it that brings You to the Holy Place where God waits to lift You that last step back to Heaven.

1 And he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city.

2 And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.

3 And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth.

4 And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?

5 For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk?

6 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.

7 And he arose, and departed to his house.

8 But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.

9 And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.

10 And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.

11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?

12 But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.

13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

14 Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not?

15 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.

16 No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse.

32 As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil.

33 And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.

34 But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils.

35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.

37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;

38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

I am entrusted with the gifts of God. 

They are My very sum and Substance.  All I am is what He gives to Me as Me.  What is His Gift to Me but everything.  “Fear not little flock, for it is the Father’s good pleasure to give You the Kingdom.”₁

¹ All things are given you. God’s trust in you is limitless. He knows His Son. He gives without exception, holding nothing back that can contribute to your happiness.  You have surely forgotten just how much You’re loved, how important to Gad and to all the Universe.

And yet unless your will is one with His, His gifts are not received. But what would make you think there is another will than His?  It is not that God withholds, but that You are blinded to the Gifts by the ego.  Thus You ignore them.

² Here is the paradox that underlies the making of the world. This world is not the Will of God, and so it is not real. Yet those who think it real must still believe there is another will, and one that leads to opposite effects from those He wills. Impossible indeed, but every mind that looks upon the world and judges it as certain, solid, trustworthy, and true believes in two creators or in one, himself alone. But never in one God.  This is a paragraph that should be read every day so You may see where Your affections – and thus Your treasures – really lie.

Until the depth of Your self-deceptions do become quite clear to You, You will keep on dreaming all these endless, pointless dreams.

³ The gifts of God are not acceptable to anyone who holds such strange beliefs. He must believe that, to accept God’s gifts, however evident they may become, however urgently he may be called to claim them as his own, is being pressed to treachery against himself. He must deny their presence, contradict the truth, and suffer to preserve the world he made.  And all of this is done so He can stay in charge, the king of His petty kingdom.  So much effort to hold on to nothing.

⁴ Here is the only home he thinks he knows. Here is the only safety he believes that he can find. Without the world he made is he an outcast, homeless and afraid. He does not realize that it is here he is afraid indeed and homeless too-an outcast wandering so far from home, so long away, he does not realize he has forgotten where he came from, where he goes, and even who he really is.  The idea that anything could be different from the way that He sees things is not just confusing, but frightening as well.  Especially if He feels ‘successful’ within His dream.  Although the so-called ‘unsuccessful’ are pretty dogged too.

⁵ Yet in his lonely, senseless wanderings, God’s gifts go with him, all unknown to him. He cannot lose them. But he will not look at what is given him. He wanders on, aware of the futility he sees about him everywhere, perceiving how his little lot but dwindles as he goes ahead to nowhere. Still he wanders on in misery and poverty, alone though God is with him, and a treasure his so great that everything the world contains is valueless before its magnitude.  The sleeping Son of God can be pretty stubborn, staying – like the Prodigal – lifetimes eating ‘pig food’ (You could say ‘eating crow’) insisting ever that what He’s doing is okay, despite dismal results.

To be a Dreamer is to be insane.

⁶ He seems a sorry figure-weary, worn, in threadbare clothing, and with feet that bleed a little from the rocky road he walks. No one but has identified with him, for everyone who comes here has pursued the path he follows and has felt defeat and hopelessness as he is feeling them. Yet is he really tragic when you see that he is following the way he chose and needs but realize Who walks with him and open up his treasures to be free?  You may say: “Yes, but …”

⁷ This is your chosen self, the one you made as a replacement for reality. This is the self you savagely defend against all reason, every evidence, and all the witnesses with proof to show this is not you. You heed them not. You go on your appointed way, with eyes cast down lest you might catch a glimpse of truth and be released from self-deception and set free.  You must like dreaming.  I know that it seems very familiar.  Yet it is Heaven that I offer You!

⁸ You cower fearfully lest you should feel Christ’s touch upon your shoulder and perceive His gentle hand directing you to look upon your gifts. How could you then proclaim your poverty in exile? He would make you laugh at this perception of yourself.  No, not All off You.   There are a comparative few that do long to Awaken.  And You do have an unseen cheering squad.  And We do understand how compelling the habit.  It makes the worst street drug look like a lollypop.

Yet We want to keep this light, infused with humor, to break through Your hypnotic state.

When We do succeed – Where is self-pity then? And what becomes of all the tragedy you sought to make for him whom God intended only joy?  Why not with God line up Your intentions?

⁹ Your ancient fear has come upon you now, and justice has caught up with you at last. Christ’s hand has touched your shoulder, and you feel that you are not alone. You even think the miserable self you thought was you may not be your identity. Perhaps God’s Word is truer than your own. Perhaps His gifts to you are real. Perhaps He has not wholly been outwitted by your plan to keep His Son in deep oblivion and go the way you chose without your Self. You see by My words here just how deep the resistance of the Son of God has run.  Yet the depth of it is summarily dismissed by the heights of God’s Love for You.

¹⁰ God’s Will does not oppose. It merely is. It has no opposite for God is All.  His Goodness is supreme for there is nothing to oppose It. Nothing Real, that is.  You have fooled Yourself with nothing but a phantasmagoria. A three-ring circus going on solely in the ego mind.

It is not God you have imprisoned in your plan to lose your Self. He does not know about a plan so alien to His Will. There was a need He did not understand, to which He gave an Answer. That is all. And you who have this Answer given you have need no more of anything but this.  You are the Son of God, nothing less, nothing more.  God’s One Son is but perfection.

¹¹ Now do we live, for now we cannot die. The wish for death is answered,  –and with Life’s Vision – and the sight that looked upon it now has been replaced by vision which perceives that you are not what you pretend to be. – The jig is up!  Having come this far through the Lessons, the dream is now full of holes, very patchy. – One walks with you Who gently answers all your fears with this one merciful reply: “It is not so.” – The whole thing is a dream, a nightmare at that.  You suffer from but an illusion. The pain You’re having now, it is not real.  The ego says: That’s what You think Buster! And then does intensify it.  It still isn’t real, no matter how bad it gets  The point remains: there is no matter, and Spirit is pain free..– He points to all the gifts you have each time the thought of poverty oppresses you and speaks of His companionship when you perceive yourself as lonely and afraid.  His gentleness beyond compare; His kindness brings tears of joy.

¹² Yet He reminds you still of one thing more you had forgotten. For His touch on you has made you like Himself. The gifts you have are not for you alone. What He has come to offer you, you now must learn to give. This is the reason We do share the Guidance on these Lessons with the world, in order to reinforce the understanding.

This is the lesson that His giving holds, for He has saved you from the solitude you sought to make in which to hide from God.  You are not alone.  Never have You been, nor will You ever be.  Life is but a shared experience.

He has reminded you of all the gifts that God has given you. He speaks as well of what becomes your will when you accept these gifts and recognize they are your own.  You do know the Gifts that I am giving, and Your appreciation is so much appreciated!

¹³ The gifts are yours, entrusted to your care to give to all who chose the lonely road you have escaped.  All YOU who joy in Your companionship with Me as You do read the Lessons and this Guidance are blessed with the Transcriber. (Who would like Me to lower-case that T.  I will not do it for You All must stand up constantly for Your Divinity!)

The only ‘law’ You Fugitives from hell do break is not now insisting upon Your Divinity!

They do not understand they but pursue their wishes. It is you who teach them now.  For They can ‘see’ and ‘hear’ You, and at the beginning of the glimpse of freedom, this is quite important.

For you have learned of Christ there is another way for them to walk. Teach them by showing them the happiness that comes to those who feel the touch of Christ and recognize God’s gifts.  I know this is the Gift You Love the best, this outrageous persisting happiness!

Let sorrow not tempt you to be unfaithful to your trust.  Stay steadfast as You must despite the gloomy picture the world is but presenting.  For error can be very convincing.  Sisters, Brothers, You need not believe it!

¹⁴ Your sighs will now betray the hopes of those who look to you for their release. Your tears are theirs. If you are sick, you but withhold their healing. What you fear but teaches them their fears are justified.  – Yet, You know they aren’t, and this Knowing revivifies them!  Truly are You “born again” and this time not as a ‘baby’!– Your hand becomes the giver of Christ’s touch; your change of mind becomes the proof that who accepts God’s gifts can never suffer anything. You are entrusted with the world’s release from pain.  Be faithful to Your trust, Others are depending on You to share the way with them, as their ‘here-and-now, not then, example.

¹⁵ Betray it not. Become the living proof of what Christ’s touch can offer everyone. God has entrusted all His gifts to you.  This is how and why You rose at four – and with a migraine – to finish this Lesson.  And where has the migraine gone?  And not just ‘yours’.  Others have had spontaneous remissions and healings due to willingness to be faithful.

Be witness in your happiness to how transformed the mind becomes which chooses to accept His gifts and feel the touch of Christ. Such is your mission now. For God entrusts the giving of His gifts to all who have received them. He has shared His joy with you. And now you go to share it with the world.  Keep persevering!  All who read this, I have need of You to Be My recruits too!

Let not my mind deny the Thought of God. 

Choosing once again to own the ego’s thoughts do I deny Who and What I am.

¹ What makes this world seem real except your own denial of the truth which lies beyond?  Why would You keep opting for the familiar when it has brought You not a thing but suffering and pain?  Is it just a habit or are You consciously attached to sleeping and dreaming?

What but your thoughts of misery and death obscure the perfect happiness and the Eternal Life your Father wills for you?  What but Your stuckness in the habits of acting like an ego and doing only what pleases You.  Look how high the cost.

And what could hide what cannot be concealed except illusion?  In other words, Your fantasies are all that are between You and Reality.

What could keep from you what you already have except your choice to see it not, denying it is there?   Preferring to continue to abide in the realm of dreams.

² The Thought of God created you. –  Out from His consciousness You are flowing. – It left you not, nor have you ever been apart from It an instant.  You can’t for it would be impossible, since there is no You – or I – apart from God.  Again, the finger cannot leave the hand; what use would it be without it? Nor can You or it exist without a Source.  How flows the stream without its origin?  A bird song without a bird to sing it. – It belongs to you. By It you live. It is your Source of life, holding you one with It, – There is no separation. None whatsoever.  All things are as One Connection. – and everything is one with you because It left you not. The Thought of God protects you, cares for you, makes soft your resting place and smooth your way, lighting your mind with happiness and love. – Your Source Loves You so! – Eternity and everlasting life shine in your mind because the Thought of God has left you not and still abides with you.  How could the Thought of God leave You?  It’s not a thing apart, since It is Be-ing You.

³ Who would deny his safety and his peace, his joy, his healing and his peace of mind, his quiet rest, his calm awakening if he but recognized where they abide? Would he not instantly prepare to go where they are found, abandoning all else as worthless in comparison with them? And having found them, would he not make sure they stay with him and he remains with them?  Of course, He would had He not become addicted to the dream in which they aren’t.

⁴ Deny not Heaven. It is yours today but for the asking.  Can it be that simple, be that easy?  It can and it is.

Nor need you perceive how great the gift, how changed your mind will be before it comes to you. Ask to receive, and it is given you.  – For it is Yours already.  By Your asking You simply allow Yourself the experience of It. – Conviction lies within it. – Once It is Yours again, You see that It forever is Yours. – Till you welcome it as yours, uncertainty remains. Yet God is fair. Sureness is not required to receive what only your acceptance can bestow.  You are always Loved.  You are always safe.  It but takes allowing to realize this.

⁵ Ask with desire. Not to ask is to disregard Our Source, Our belovèd God.

You need not be sure that you request the only thing you want.  All that is asked of You is but that “little willingness” that You might receive it.

But when you have received, you will be sure you have the treasure you have always sought. What would you then exchange it for? What would induce you now to let it fade away from your ecstatic vision? For this sight proves that you have exchanged your blindness for the seeing eyes of Christ; your mind has come to lay aside denial and accept the Thought of God as its inheritance.  Feel Peace infill You.

⁶ Now is all doubting past, the journey’s end made certain, and salvation given you. Now is Christ’s power in your mind to heal as you were healed. For now you are among the saviors of the world. Your destiny lies there and nowhere else. Would God consent to let His Son remain forever starved by his denial of the nourishment he needs to live? – Is not Spirit complete and eternal? Yes! You know It is. – Abundance dwells in him, and deprivation cannot cut him off from God’s sustaining Love and from his home.  And You are Home to God’s eternal Love.  It is both Your very Source and Substance.

⁷ Practice today in hope. For hope indeed is justified. Your doubts are meaningless, for God is certain.  And what is hope in the Bible – and as I use it here – but confidence in Good.

And the Thought of Him is never absent.  On this fact is base Your absolute confidence, Your peace and joy.  Hence come My words: I am always with You.

Sureness must abide within you who are host to Him. This course removes all doubts which you have interposed between Him and your certainty of Him. We count on God and not upon ourselves to give us certainty. And in His Name we practice as His Word directs we do. His sureness lies beyond our every doubt. His Love remains beyond our every fear. The Thought of Him is still beyond all dreams and in our minds according to His Will.  Here now is the fact: God is Be-ing the pure You – the Real – and the only choice You have is will You not or will You choose to experience It.

Now are we one with Him Who is our Source. 

And not just now, We have been so forever.  We had deliberately forgotten Oneness for it did not suit the selfish nature of the dreaming.  And now We are remembering.  How good it feels!  How safe, how comforting, to not be alone.  How much We Love Our Source and each Other!

¹ What time but now can truth be recognized? The present is the only time there is. Which is why the ego just loves procrastination!

And so today, this instant, now, we come to look upon what is forever there-not in our sight, – blinded by all of Our self-centeredness – but in the eyes of Christ. All are included in His Self; no-One is ever left out.

He looks past time and sees eternity as represented there. He hears the sounds the senseless busy world engenders, yet He hears them faintly, for beyond them all He hears the song of Heaven and the Voice of God more clear, more meaningful, more near.  He is never distracted by the world because His mind is stayed Heaven, while yet He walks the world as Our Companion.

² The world fades easily away before His sight. Its sounds grow dim. A melody from far beyond the world increasingly is more and more distinct-an ancient call to which He gives an ancient answer. You will recognize them both. For they are but your answer to your Father’s call to you.    As You do begin to remember – to feel and hear – the forgotten song of Love that always sings to You.  You forgot to hear it when You fell into the dream.  It is dawning on You, just how much You’ve given up in Your foolish quest for Your self-determination.

Christ answers for you, echoing your Self, using your voice to give His glad consent, accepting your deliverance for you.  Remember to show Your gratitude by staying in constant communion with Him … if You are grateful.  If You aren’t, then work on gratitude.

³ How holy is your practicing today, as Christ gives you His sight and hears for you and answers in your name the call He hears.  Once again do I encourage You to make no decisions on Your own at all.

How quiet is the time you give to spend with Him beyond the world. How easily are all your seeming sins forgot and all your sorrows unremembered. –  Here You stand in a land unmarked by time, sorrow or grievance.  Like Rumi’s field out beyond right and wrong, is the time You spend with Your Self, We call the Holy Spirit. How joyous it is to law down all sadness and grievances.  How good to be free! – On this day is grief laid by, for sights and sounds which come from nearer than the world are made clear to you who will today accept the gifts He gives.  How glad You are!  How light You feel to day.  You had not understood just how heavy were these burdens, and how they weighed You down.

⁴ There is a silence into which the world can not intrude. There is an ancient peace you carry in your heart and have not lost.  It is as if You had a treasure long buried under so much useless stuff within the basement of Your home.  The gold is there, You just had completely forgotten all about it.  And now You are being reminded that You are the Son of God.  It’s actuality, not fantasy.

There is a sense of holiness in you the thought of sin has never touched. All this today you will remember. Faithfulness in practicing today will bring rewards so great and so completely different from all things you sought before that you will know that here your treasure is and here your rest.  And as I said centuries ago: Where Your treasure is, there is Your heart also.  To treasure the Son of God that You really are is the return of Sanity.

⁵ This is the day when vain imaginings part like a curtain to reveal what lies beyond them. – Your Reality. – Now is what is really there made visible, – the Son of God who’s really there because He is everywhere. – while all the shadows which appeared to hide it sink to obscurity.  – As the Light rises, the shadows vanish. – Now is the balance righted and the scales of judgment left to Him Who judges true. – As I have said before the verdict always is not guilty. – And in His judgment will a world unfold in perfect innocence before your eyes. Now will you see it with the eyes of Christ. Now is its transformation clear to you. Reality is always perfection.

⁶ Brothers, this day is sacred to the world. Your vision, given you from far beyond all things within the world, looks back on them in a new light. And what you see becomes the healing and salvation of the world. The valuable and valueless are both perceived and recognized for what they are. And what is worthy of your love receives your love, while nothing to be feared remains.  You see, as You read My words, how important every thought You have is to the world, and to each Other.

⁷ We will not judge today. We will receive but what is given us from judgment made beyond the world. Our practicing today becomes our gift of thankfulness for our release from blindness and from misery. All that we see will but increase our joy because its holiness reflects our own. We stand forgiven in the sight of Christ, with all the world forgiven in our own.  As We stand together to Love and bless the world, the world does feels this Love, and everything enlightens.  And We feel blessing flow right back to Us.  For everything is grateful to be loved.

⁸ We bless the world as we behold it in the light in which our Savior looks on us and offer it the freedom given us through His forgiving vision, now our own.  The multitudes who came to Me for healing thought it was for their bodies.  Yet it was their minds that cried out for Me, feeling for eternity.

Open the curtain in your practicing by merely letting go all things you think you want. All You really long for is freedom from the dream, for You are still among the multitudes and not the Saviours until You make connection with Holy Spirit Your priority.

Your trifling treasures put away and leave a clean and open space within your mind where Christ can come and offer you the treasure of salvation. He has need of your most holy mind to save the world.  You understand that it is always Your mind of which We speak, and not the body, which only does the bidding of the mind.

⁹ Is not this purpose worthy to be yours?  You know this question is rhetorical!  It is the only Purpose in the dream.

Is not Christ’s vision worthy to be sought above the world’s unsatisfying goals?   These are important questions that We ask.  You have not yet realized to depth of self-preoccupation that it takes to remain an ego.

I would have You wake each day and say: ‘Father, Brother, Holy Spirit, what would You have Me do for You?

Let not today slip by without the gifts it holds for you receiving your consent and your acceptance.  Will You accept My offer of a job in this world of unemployment?  It’s volunteer, and the benefits go far beyond eternity.  For this Love cannot be measured, but must be experienced.

We can change the world if you acknowledge them. You may not see the value your acceptance gives the world.  So let’s bring it right home to number One: But this you surely want-you can exchange all suffering for joy this very day. All this by simply changing Your Teacher: allegiance to the Holy Spirit and not to the ego.

Practice in earnest, and the gift is yours.  Exchange lip service now for whole-hearted participation.

Would God deceive you? Can His promise fail?  Think You the ego more reliable?  That’s preposterous.  The ego cares not at all for You, but for its survival, while You are the Father’s most belovèd. Can you withhold so little when His Hand holds out complete salvation to His Son?  Can You not feel His majesty and Love in the consistency of every sunrise, the breeze that does caress You, the mulberries falling from the tree to bless You with their sweetness, the fragrance of the roses, the warmth of sun on sand, all the different bird songs, and that eternal place of stillness in Your mind.

Let Yourself feel how much You’re loved by God and All Creation!

There is no death. the Son of God is free. 

Glory, glory hallelujah, hosanna in the highest!  It feels like Christmas every single day.  The re-coming in consciousness of Christ.  Its Light dissipates the ego’s darkness.  See It freeing every mind from dimness, Christ’s Vision bringing clarity to All.

¹ Death is a thought which takes on many forms, often unrecognized. It may appear as sadness, fear, anxiety, or doubt; as anger, faithlessness, and lack of trust; concern for bodies, envy, and all forms in which the wish to be as you are not may come to tempt you.  And ‘death’ is the foundation that supports the dream ongoing.  Without it is gone the opportunity to exit a life that’s gotten tiresome and boring. Therefore, it is but crucial to the dream.  And in its many forms it does give spice to endless dreaming.

All such thoughts are but reflections of the worshipping of death as savior and as giver of release.  (From a single dream, but not from dreaming.)

² Embodiment of fear, the host of sin, god of the guilty, and the lord of all illusions and deceptions, does the thought of death seem mighty. For it seems to hold all living things within its withered hand; all hopes and wishes in its blighting grasp. All goals perceived but in its sightless eyes. The frail, the helpless, and the sick bow down before its image, thinking it alone is real, inevitable, worthy of their trust. For it alone will surely come.  What You believe in and do rely on has become Your god.

³ All things but death are seen to be unsure, too quickly lost however hard to gain, uncertain in their outcome, apt to fail the hopes they once engendered and to leave the taste of dust and ashes in their wake in place of aspirations and of dreams.  And ‘death’ is so reliable.  Who could not count on it to finally end the pain of so-called ‘living’?  And standing behind its unholy relief is the promise of a brand-new dream!  Oh what frabuous joy!  Another opportunity to dream.

But death is counted on. For it will come with certain footsteps when the time has come for its arrival. It will never fail to take all life as hostage to itself.  Make no mistake, it is Your petty god, for You are surer of it than You are of God Our dear Father and Our Mother.

⁴ Would you bow down to idols such as this? – Yes, apparently! – Here is the strength and might of God Himself perceived within an idol made of dust. Here is the opposite of God – which is Life Itself – proclaimed as lord of all creation, stronger than God’s Will for life, the endlessness of love and Heaven’s perfect, changeless constancy. Here is the Will of Father and of Son defeated finally and laid to rest beneath the headstone death has placed upon the body of the holy Son of God.  Ringed about with rituals considered ‘sacred’.  Consider funerals in church.  The message that ‘matter’ is the arbiter of so-called ‘life’ because it can ‘die’.  What utter nonsense.  What bizarre beliefs; the Son of God has fallen in a spell, engendered by His love of willfulness.

⁵ Unholy in defeat, he has become what death would have him be. His epitaph, which death itself has written, gives no name to him, for he has passed to dust. It says but this: “Here lies a witness God is dead.” And this it writes again and still again, while all the while its worshippers agree, and kneeling down with foreheads to the ground, they whisper fearfully that it is so.  Can You deny this?  You know that You can’t.  Your minds are full of foolishness, again, engendered by Your selfish willfulness.   You have not yet been willing to improve Your mind enough to set free Your Brothers from these delusions.

Will You now commit to Join with Me, this time permanently?

⁶ It is impossible to worship death in any form and still select a few you would not cherish and would yet avoid while still believing in the rest. For death is total. Either all things die or else they live and cannot die. No compromise is possible. For here again we see an obvious position which we must accept if we be sane; what contradicts one thought entirely can not be true unless its opposite is proven false.  This is what I ask You to commit to: the understanding that Life is All there is for God is Love.  This understanding will abolish sickness, sin, and dying.  By ending nightmares, it ushers in the happy dream.  From there it is but one simple step to Heaven, Your Holy Freedom.

The Universe, dancing in joyous anticipation, does await Your happy, Holy Homecoming!

⁷ The idea of the death of God is so preposterous that even the insane have difficulty in believing it. For it implies that God was once alive and somehow perished, killed, apparently, by those who did not want him to survive. Their stronger will could triumph over His, and so eternal life gave way to death. And with the Father died the Son as well.  Such are the beliefs fixating on crucifixion rather than the Resurrection.  Hence the peculiar term ‘good’ Friday.  What’s ‘good’ about it?

Do You see how many things in the dream that You mindlessly accept as ‘givens’?

⁸ Death’s worshippers may be afraid. And yet can thoughts like these be fearful? If they saw that it is only this which they believed, they would be instantly released. And you will show them this today. There is no death, and we renounce it now in every form for their salvation and our own as well.  Ask Yourself this and notice Your own answer: does ‘dying’ promise You Your freedom?  Does it offer You an ‘out’ when this ‘life’ seems beyond bearing?  If so, this means that You have fallen prey to ego thinking.

Don’t get depressed!  The remedy is simple.  Just change Your mind.  You’re free to do that.

God made not death. Whatever form it takes must therefore be illusion. This the stand we take today. And it is given us to look past death and see the light beyond.  Say: ‘No thank You!’ to all thoughts of ‘dying’ and just walk on by.  And You will see the Light right here and now.

⁹ Our Father, – Giver of all Good – bless our eyes today. – Help Us be aware that We are so blessed – We are Your messengers, and we would look upon the glorious reflection of Your Love which shines in everything. – We long for eyes of Love to see as You. -We live and breathe in You alone. – You are Our breath and breathing.  As Paul said in the Bible, We live and move and have Our Be-ing₁ not just in You, but as You.  Our Real Life is You. – We are not separate from Your eternal life. There is no death, for death is not Your Will. And we abide where You have placed us, in the Life we share with You and with all living things, to be like You and part of You forever. We accept Your Thoughts as ours, and our will is one with Yours eternally. Amen.  Dear God!  You have not just a little, but all My willingness!

I am as God created me. 

I feel You thinking: It doesn’t look or feel like it.  So let Us clarify this, and let Us stay within the present tense, which is all there is.

I am as God is creating Me right here and right now.  As Lesson 97 states of You: I am Spirit.  And when You will to change Your mind about what You seem to be, it will change accordingly.

Now the question is: Do You really want to change Your mind to experience Life as Spirit?  You don’t need to ‘die’ to do it.  Dying can be counter-productive.

It should be obvious that: I am as God created (or is creating) Me includes no dying.  God is eternal and You flow from Him.  Life is forever.

¹ This single thought, held firmly in the mind, would save the world. From time to time we will repeat it, as we reach another stage in learning. It will mean far more to you as you advance. These words are sacred, for they are the words God gave in answer to the world you made. – In other words, it just never happened! – By them it disappears, and all things seen within its misty clouds and vaporous illusions vanish as these words are spoken. For they come from God.  How dear are these words for they speak of His constant Presence right there Be-ing You, His constant loving care.

² Here is the Word by which the Son became His Father’s happiness, His Love, and His completion. – You may think of completion as an ending.  Yet the word does actually mean intensely full.  Again, like a cup that runneth over. – Here creation is proclaimed and honored as it is. There is no dream these words will not dispel, no thought of sin, and no illusion that the dream contains that will not fade away before their might. They are the trumpet of awakening that sounds around the world. The dead awake in answer to its call. And those who live and hear this sound will never look on death.  For these words do deny the entire dream.  You are as God created You, then the dream could never have happened.  Put it in the present tense: You are as God creates You, and You state that the dream isn’t going right now!

³ Holy indeed is he – Brother or Sister – who makes these words his own-arising with them in his mind, recalling them throughout the day, at night bringing them with him as he goes to sleep. His dreams are happy and his rest secure, his safety certain and his body healed because he sleeps and wakens with the truth before him always. He will save the world because he gives the world what he receives each time he practices the words of truth.  Remember!  Minds are Joined!

⁴ Today we practice simply. For the words we use are mighty, and they need no thoughts beyond themselves to change the mind of him who uses them. So wholly is it changed that it is now the treasury in which God places all His gifts and all His Love to be distributed to all the world, increased in giving, kept complete because its sharing is unlimited. And thus you learn to think with God. – What pure happiness! – Christ’s vision has restored your sight by salvaging your mind.  Just this one simple and clear idea works miracles for You!

⁵ We honor you today. Yours is the right to perfect holiness you now accept. With this acceptance is salvation brought to everyone, for who could cherish sin when holiness like this has blessed the world? Who could despair when perfect joy is yours, available to all as remedy for grief and misery, all sense of loss, and for complete escape from sin and guilt?  Your happy face can bring this miracle to Sisters, Brothers all over the world.

⁶ And who would not be brother to you now-you, his redeemer and his savior.  What an opportunity this is to bless this stale and tired world, by transforming it to Heaven.

Who could fail to welcome you into his heart with loving invitation, eager to unite with one like him in holiness? – All tired minds do long for Your peace and Your great happiness. – You are as God created you. These words dispel the night, and darkness is no more. The light is come today to bless the world, for you have recognized the Son of God, and in your recognition is the world’s.  Let this idea sink deep into Your mind: I am the Son of God, therefore, I am as God and thus, so is All Creation.

Give me your blessing, holy Son of God. 

Give me your blessing, holy Son of God.  And I would bless You as well.  For when We do bless each Other, We are, therefore, twice-blessed by both the giving and receiving.
Do You not yet have the humility to ask this of a Brother?  Then hear Me speak to All of You: Give Me Your blessings Holy Brothers and My Holy Sisters, that We might All Know each Other, lovely as We really are.  When I look at You, I see perfection.

¹ Today we practice differently and take a stand against our anger that our fears may disappear and offer room to love.  For what is anger but the ‘local deity’ (That petty ‘god’ is You run by ego!) enraged by not getting His way.

Here is salvation in the simple words in which we practice today’s idea. – The words are simple, yet the ego arrogant does choke on them.   How can You ask for blessing if You won’t bless in return?  You must give up this arrogance for Love. – Here is the answer to temptation which can never fail to welcome in the Christ where fear and anger had prevailed before. – Yet is the willingness to Love instead so healing. – Here is Atonement made complete, the world passed safely by, and Heaven now restored. Here is the answer of the Voice of God.  Do You see that happiness comes not from ‘out there’ where Your Brother seems to be, but within what You call ‘Me.’

² Complete abstraction is the natural condition of the mind.  What do I mean by this but that thoughts are things for things are thoughts.  There is no ‘matter’.  All is Consciousness, Consciousness of God.  The only Brother ‘out there’ is really ‘in here’ in Our collective mind We share.

But part of it is now unnatural. It does not look on everything as one. It sees instead but fragments of the whole, for only thus could it invent the partial world you see. The purpose of all seeing is to show you what you wish to see. All hearing but brings to your mind the sounds it wants to hear.  How can You correct such self-absorption?  Do not think It is impossible, for as I said to Peter some years ago₁ – around two thousand – with God all things are surely possible!
Now let Us address specificity.

³ Thus were specifics made. And now it is specifics we must use in practicing. Specifics are Your thought that You are Joe or Mary, separate from the Sonship.  It is as if the thumb and all four fingers decided to split up from the hand, fell asleep and dreamed that it was accomplished, and never woke from dreaming.  Although it never happened, it appeared ‘real’ to them.  And they remained impotent in their separated state.

We give them to the Holy Spirit that He may employ them for a purpose which is different from the one we gave to them. Yet He can use but what we made to teach us from a different point of view, so we can see a different use in everything.  The Holy Spirit, being just endlessly creative, can turn everything to a good advantage, as You give Him the opportunity.

⁴ One brother is all brothers. – There cannot be separate existence. – Every mind contains all minds, for every mind is one.   Do You understand this?  Let Us repeat the analogy of the Sun to describe the Son.  The Sonship – and, indeed, all Creation, are to God, Our Source, like the rays to the sun.  Without the rays there is no sun, without the sun there are no rays.Without the Sonship of Creation, there is no God, and without God, there is no Sonship, no Creation.

Such is the truth. Yet do these thoughts make clear the meaning of creation? Do these words bring perfect clarity with them to you? What can they seem to be but empty sounds, pretty, perhaps; correct in sentiment, yet fundamentally not understood nor understandable. The mind that taught itself to think specifically can no longer grasp abstraction in the sense that it is all-encompassing. Along with specificity came materiality to further confuse the issue; for now separation seemed to take on specious ‘life’ of its own.  And We are so sure that the way We ‘see’ things is just how it is! – We need to see a little that we learn a lot.  In other words, We start small to keep confusion minimal.

⁵ It seems to be the body that we feel limits our freedom, makes us suffer, and at last puts out our life. Yet bodies are but concrete symbols of a concrete form of fear. – Out of such came the strange experience of being ‘matter’, defense to hide a willful consciousness. – Fear without symbols calls for no response, for symbols can stand for the meanings. Love needs no symbols, being true. But fear attaches to specifics, being false.  Spirit is invincible; therefore, there is no need to fear.  Believe in ‘matter’, and everything is frightful!

⁶ Bodies attack but minds do not. This thought is surely reminiscent of our text, where it is often emphasized. This is the reason bodies easily become fear’s symbols. You have many times been urged to look beyond the body, for its sight presents the symbol of love’s “enemy” Christ’s vision does not see. The body is the target for attack, for no one thinks he hates a mind. Yet what but mind directs the body to attack? What else could be the seat of fear except what thinks of fear?  What is the body that claims materiality – when none is really there – but a strange manifestation of a mind that is quite constricted, narrowed down until it sees but its own point of view, and not any others.  This is separation from Your Brothers, life in bodies apart from each Other. Real Love frightens this strange point of view, for Love is All-inclusive; it’s not partial.

⁷ Hate is specific. There must be a thing to be attacked. An enemy must be perceived in such a form he can be touched and seen and heard and ultimately killed. When hatred rests upon a thing, it calls for death as surely as God’s Voice proclaims there is no death.  – And then it will choose to ‘die’ rather than part with its hatred. – Fear is insatiable, consuming everything its eyes behold, seeing itself in everything, compelled to turn upon itself and to destroy. Obviously this is insanity.

⁸ Who sees a brother as a body sees him as fear’s symbol. And he will attack because what he beholds is his own fear external to himself, poised to attack and howling to unite with him again. Mistake not the intensity of rage projected fear must spawn. It shrieks in wrath and claws the air in frantic hope it can reach to its maker and devour him.  What is this all about, these words so strong sounding like a horror movie?  Why are bodies so important to it, their relationship to sex?  What’s this all about?

As long as You see a Brother as a body, You can’t know Him as mind, as consciousness.  And You are stuck within the repeating dream.  But make real mental contact like We have, and the dream will lose its importance.  This does terrify the ego.

⁹ This do the body’s eyes behold in one whom Heaven cherishes, the angels love, and God created perfect. This is his reality. And in Christ’s vision is his loveliness reflected in a form so holy and so beautiful that you could scarce refrain from kneeling at his feet. Yet you will take his hand instead, for you are like him in the sight that sees him thus.  How do You see Your Brother as the Christ?  You must make, abd cherish, and keep that constant connection with the Holy Spirit.  And then will You be blessed to see as S/He.

¹⁰ Attack on him is enemy to you, for you will not perceive that in his hands is your salvation. Ask him but for this, and he will give it to you. Ask him not to symbolize your fear. Would you request that love destroy itself? Or would you have it be revealed to you and set you free?  What if Your Brother looks at You as if You’re crazy?  Just stick with that connection.  S/He will be healed by Your persistent Love.

¹¹ Today we practice in a form we have attempted earlier. Your readiness is closer now, and you will come today nearer Christ’s vision. If you are intent on reaching it, you will succeed today. And once you have succeeded, you will not be willing to accept the witnesses your body’s eyes call forth. What you will see will sing to you of ancient melodies you will remember. You are not forgot in Heaven. Would you not remember it?  Heaven waits on tiptoe for Your return.  Don’t disappoint it!

¹² Select one brother, symbol of the rest, and ask salvation of him. See him first as clearly as you can in that same form to which you are accustomed. See his face, his hands and feet, his clothing. Watch him smile, and see familiar gestures which he makes so frequently. Then think of this-what you are seeing now conceals from you the sight of one who can forgive you all your sins, whose sacred hands can take the nails which pierce your own away and lift the crown of thorns which you have placed upon your bleeding head.  Begin to realize Christ is everywhere and every when.

¹³ Ask this of him that he may set you free:

¹⁴ Give me your blessing, holy Son of God.
I would behold you with the eyes of Christ,
And see my perfect sinlessness in you.

¹⁵ And He will answer Whom you called upon, for He will hear the Voice of God in you and answer in your own. Behold him now whom you had seen as merely flesh and bone and recognize that Christ has come to you.  You are His Christ too.

¹⁶ Today’s idea is your safe escape from anger and from fear. Be sure you use it instantly, should you be tempted to attack a brother and perceive in him the symbol of your fear. And you will see him suddenly transformed from enemy to savior, from the devil into Christ.  You won’t know, now will You, until You try it consistently.

I am home. Fear is the stranger here. 

I am at home. – My Home is Heaven.  It’s not a place You go to when You so-called ‘die’, That perpetuates the dreaming. Rather it is the experience of peace and happiness – as Your consciousness – right here and right now. – Fear is the stranger here. Those who call the world their home are always frightened, of God, of other individuals, of lack of money, of not being loved; the lisr goes on and on: endless.

Slyly has the ego insinuated fear of what it invented and then termed the ‘wrath’ of God.  The same God that says in the Bible: “I have loved thee with and everlasting Love.”₁   And that My disciple John – quoting Me – said: “God is Love”₂

Cleverly has the ego defined God as quite punitive.  Can You not hear Him thunder: “Vengeance is Mine!”₃  The earth trembles.  What utter nonsense!

Not so in Heaven!  It’s a state of Mind – right here and now – so beautiful that it defies description.  And this state of Mind is You, here and now.  There’s no need for dying, only Living!

¹ Fear is a stranger to the ways of love.  Let Us now, once again, review those delightful acronyms for fear: False Evidence Appearing Real.  And then: Forgetting Everything’s All Right.

Identify with fear, and you will be a stranger to yourself. And thus you are unknown to you. – You think You are ‘human’ when You are the Holy Son of God. – What is your Self remains an alien to the part of you which thinks that it is real but different from yourself. – You know not Who You are or What You are. – Who could be sane in such a circumstance? Who but a madman could believe he is what he is not and judge against himself?  And in addition, judge against all His belovèd Brothers.  This is insanity of interlaced ambiguities.  For His whole thought system is but based on unrealities.

² There is a stranger in our midst who comes from an idea so foreign to the truth he speaks a different language, looks upon a world truth does not know, and understands what truth regards as senseless. Stranger yet, he does not recognize to whom he comes and yet maintains his home belongs to him, while he is alien now who is at home.  Indeed, the Son has let Himself be imprisoned by the ego; i.e. His strange, bizarre thought system.

³And yet how easy it would be to say, “This is my home. Here I belong and will not leave because a madman says I must.” – Yet You choose not to say it.  Why is that? – What reason is there for not saying this? What could the reason be except that you had asked this stranger in to take your place and let you be a stranger to yourself? No one would let himself be dispossessed so needlessly unless he thought there was another home more suited to his tastes.  Or another way of being, more satisfying than to Be the Son of God.

⁴ Who is the stranger? Is it fear or you that is unsuited to the home which God provided for His Son? – It cannot be You. – Is fear His own, created in His likeness? Is it fear that love completes and is completed by?  This is not likely!There is no home can shelter love and fear. – Again John, My disciple, tells Us clearly that perfect Love does cast out fear, like the sun does melt the mists of the morning. – They cannot coexist. If you are real, then fear must be illusion. And if fear is real, then you do not exist at all.  And that is the one thing of which You’re sure: that You do exist.

⁵ How simply, then, the question is resolved. Who fears has but denied himself and said, “I am the stranger here. And so I leave my home to one more like me than myself and give him all I thought belonged to me.” Now is he exiled of necessity, not knowing who he is, uncertain of all things but this-that he is not himself and that his home has been denied to him.  You have abdicated the throne of the Son, Your Heritage, to act like an ego, a creature selfish and miserable.  This makes sense to You?

⁶ What does he search for now? What can he find? A stranger to himself can find no home wherever he may look, for he has made return impossible. – Not knowing Who or What You are, how can You know what You want or need?  This is a job for the Holy Spirit, here to be Your Guide!  Ego thinking knows not the way to freedom, nor does He really desire it. – His way is lost except a miracle will search him out and show him that he is no stranger now. The miracle will come. – (Because God is Love!) – For in his home his Self remains. It asked no stranger in and took no alien thought to be Itself. And It will call its own unto Itself, in recognition of what is Its own.  What is Your Self but the Holy Spirit!  Welcome Him with joy!  Welcome Her with joy!

⁷ Who is the stranger? Is he not the one your Self calls not? You are unable now to recognize this stranger in your midst, for you have given him your rightful place. You have become Your Halloween costume!

Yet is your Self as certain of Its own as God is of His Son. – For God and the Holy Spirit Know as One. – He cannot be confused about creation. He is sure of what belongs to Him. No stranger can be interposed between His knowledge and His Son’s reality. He does not know of strangers. He is certain of His Son.  The Holy Spirit is His Extension: Your Oneness with God.

⁸ God’s certainty suffices. – His Knowing supreme. – Who He knows to be His Son belongs where He has set His Son forever. God is sure and certain, Good and permanent, unlike the ego.  While the ego hates and is divisive, God always Loves, always is inclusive.  Each One is treasured.  You are not left out, but priceless to God.  Yes! It is You to Whom I am speaking!  Are You listening?

He has answered you who ask, “Who is the stranger?” Hear His Voice assure you, quietly and sure, that you are not a stranger to your Father, nor is your Creator stranger made to you. Whom God has joined remains forever one, at home in Him, no stranger to Himself.  You have not been forgotten.  His Love for You is forever.

⁹Today we offer thanks that Christ has come to search the world for what belongs to Him.  Here I am for You, Belovèd Sisters, and belovèd Sons.His vision sees no strangers, but beholds His own and joyously unites with them. – My Love for All of You is positively eternal! –They see Him as a stranger, for they do not recognize themselves. There is but one Son, and that one Son is Christ.  And the Christ is All of Us with Infinite Expression. – Yet as they give Him welcome, they remember. And He leads them gently home again where they belong.  How good, how safe, how happy does it feel to be Home again.  All the created things desired do not (and can’t) match one iota of It.

¹⁰Not one does Christ forget. Not one He fails to give you to remember that your home may be complete and perfect as it was established. He has not forgotten you.  Can You grasp a Love like this, so vastly different from the concepts of the ego?  A Love that is inclusive of All, rather than exclusive.

Just these very words: “He has not forgotten You” speak of Love Divine where Every One is valuable, each One is precious.  This is You of whom I speak,  Your value to all Creation.  Take My words on trust until You grasp them, the Love of God and the Holy Spirit.

But you will not remember Him until you look on all as He does. – To do this You must learn to shut up the ego so You can hear the Voice of Love. – Who denies his brother is denying Him – The View of God, Christ, and Holy Spirit – and thus refusing to accept the gift of sight by which his Self is clearly recognized, his home remembered, and salvation come.  Would You give up Heaven’s happiness to make Your Brother wrong?

Brother choose again!  Sister, choose again!
