TRANSCRIBER’S NOTE: The Course text is in bold face. The Guidance is in normal type In His Guidance, He has asked Me to capitalize the pronouns You and We as an acknowledgement of the Divinity of All of Us, an acknowledgement of Equality, an expression of His Love and respect for You. When You see the word ‘YOU’ capitalized in the Guidance, know that He is not just speaking to YOU, He is honoring YOU.

REVIEW II

1 Today let us review these ideas:

[65] My only function is the one God gave me.  And not the one I gave Myself: the one of being ego.

2 I have no function but the one God gave me. Gee, I thought I did, the one that I created for the dream; the one that seems so very real – all-encompassing – to Me. You’re saying that this isn’t really Me, ‘though it seems to be?  Wow! That blows  My mind! This recognition releases me from all conflict because it means I cannot have conflicting goals. With one purpose only, I am always certain what to do, what to say, and what to think. Of course, it means I will have to listen carefully to You, as You’ve asked Us to. All doubt must disappear as I acknowledge that my only function is the one God gave me. I have to step up to gladly accept it, and then I will be able to step out of the ego. (“Oh frabjous day!”)1

3 More specific applications of this idea might take these forms:

4 My perception of this does not change my function. How I do see a thing is not necessarily correct, so let Me stay with My function, instead of My perception.

This does not give me a function other than the one God gave me.
This way I know I do the Will of God and not the ego’s. For perception is quite unreliable, having its basis the in ego. Let me not use this to justify a function God did not give to me. For the ego is quite untrustworthy!

[66] My happiness and my function are one. When I am in harmony with God’s plan for Me, that makes Me so very happy!

5 All things that come from God are one. In other words, they are in harmony, as a grand symphony of Good that plays for Eternity, ever-fresh and new. They come from Oneness and must be received as one. For God and All the Universe is One. Fulfilling my function is my happiness because both come from the same Source. To Be What I really am is joyous. And I must learn to recognize what makes me happy if I would find happiness. It surely isn’t things or other people, winning in Las Vegas or a lottery, having lots of friends who love Me.  Such things are nice, and they’re not the steady happiness that comes from Be-ing in harmony with God.

6 Some useful forms for specific applications of this idea are:

7 This cannot separate my happiness from my function. Whatever is the situation, it cannot affect My happiness, if I fulfill My function.  The oneness of my happiness and my function
remains wholly unaffected by this.
So I stand steadfast, letting God direct each one of My days.  Nothing, including this, can justify the illusion of happiness
apart from my function.
I rest in Your Guiding, My belovèd Father-Mother God.
