Workbook PART I
REVIEW II
We are now ready for another review. We will begin where our last review left off and cover two ideas each day. The earlier part of each day will be devoted to one of these ideas, and the latter part of the day to the other. We will have one longer exercise period and frequent shorter ones in which we practice each of them. There’s much blessing in doing these Lessons.
2 The longer practice periods will follow this general form: take about 15 minutes for each of them, and begin by thinking about the idea and the comments which are included in the assignments. Are You yet realizing just what a Gift the Lessons are? You have an actual course of study here designed to free You from self-made hell. Devote about three or four minutes to reading them over slowly, several times if you wish, and then close your eyes and listen. Repeat the first phase if you find your mind wandering, but try to spend the major part of the practice period listening quietly but attentively. These quiet times are genuinely invaluable to You.
3 There is a message waiting for you. Be confident that you will receive it. Remember that it belongs to you and that you want it. Do not allow your intent to waver in the face of distracting thoughts. For this is the method that the ego uses to confound You, and it has been ‘successful’ for absolutely eons. Realize that, whatever form they take, they have no meaning and no power. You have let them rule You now for what seems like forever. It isn’t. There is reality at hand to bless and save You. Replace them with your determination to succeed. Your mindset can always triumph over ego thoughts. For Your Real Mind is but God’s holy Cons Consciousness. Do not forget that your will has power over all fantasies and dreams. For it is Divine and lifts You on high. Trust it to see you through and carry you beyond them all. To experience God’s great Love for You.
4 Regard these practice periods as dedications to the way, the truth, and the life. Refuse to be side-tracked into detours, illusions, and thoughts of death. You are dedicated to salvation. What does that mean to You, but that Your dedication is to Life and Truth and Love. Be determined each day not to leave your function unfulfilled. So every day I will choose Life and cleave to the holy Truth of God, and Love My Neighbour as Myself. This is a wonderful occupation!
5 Reaffirm your determination in the shorter practice periods as well, using the original form of the idea for general application and a more specific form when needed. Some specific forms will be included in the comments. These, however, are merely suggestions. It is not the particular words you use that matter. Always, it is Your feeling and Your intention which count mo
Lesson 81
1 Our ideas for review today are:
[61] I am the light of the world.
It is so long since I knew Myself as holy. Not just way before any childhood I could remember, but way before there were any things called ‘children’; back when all there was and is is the Son of God.
The Son of God: All of Us overflowing as the Light that lights up the Universe.
2 How holy am I, who have been given the function of lighting up the world! Let me be still before my holiness. In its calm light, let all my conflicts disappear. In its peace, let me remember who I am.
The Son of God along with All My Brothers and My Sisters.
The Son of God is Our eternal Selfhood, long before the idea of “male and female”. So much One takes as ‘given’ really isn’t. It was invented to hide Your exquisite Self.
“Holiness becomes Thy house”. What is Your “house” but where You dwell: i.e. Your Consciousness. So if You would be holy, be the Light You are, then You must watch Your thinking. This is a Course in Holiness as well as in miracles.
3 Some specific forms for applying the idea when specific difficulties seem to arise might be:
4 Let me not obscure the light of the world in me.
Let the light of the world shine through this appearance.
This shadow will vanish before the light.[62] Forgiveness is my function as the light of the world.
From where forgiveness flows but from Your Love? Will You Love Your Brother enough to overlook His errors, hold Him as His Holy Perfection?
5 It is through accepting my function that I will see the light in me. And in this light will my function stand clear and perfectly unambiguous before my sight. My acceptance does not depend on my recognizing what my function is, for I do not yet understand forgiveness. Yet I will trust that in the light I will see it as it is.
The question is: do You prefer to Love or to be ‘right’ about Your Brother’s ‘sins’? This question goes as well to Your Brother. Each One of You shall be slow to judge and very quick to bless. Thus is Your Function.

7 Let this help me learn what forgiveness means.
Let me not separate my function from my will.
I would not use this for an alien purpose.Love is Your natural purpose. Judgment is alien to You.
